A lot teeming with cars, trucks and SUVs is something car dealerships dread and repair shops pine for. And so it goes in early 2009 for the automotive industry.

Travis Butler, who owns Butler's Automotive on Lumpkin Street near the University of Georgia campus, is the happy recipient of ramped-up commerce, as people seek to eschew new automobile payments by trying to get another year (or two) out of their existing rides.

"We're pretty much staying busy," said Butler, who's been in business for six years. "From September until the first part of December, we'd actually slowed down some. We're kind of back to normal now and are a little busier than we were this time last year.
